The path is not necessarily safe

I think that I get so caught up with God charting my road and walking with me that I forget that the road is just the journey and it passes through all kinds of things that we call life.

My conversations in the last few days with other followers of Jesus reminded me that the journey is not always as smooth or safe as might imagine.  If I have not made the decision to make God my refuge, how am I going to ask Him to save and deliver me when people are trying to take me off the road that God has put me on?

So God becomes my shield and those who wish to do me harm, if they do not turn away, if they do not stop in trying to take me down, will find that the harm meant for me turns on them instead.

The path might not be safe, but God is my salvation.
