You put our feet on a wonderful road

you put my feet on a wonderful road

To all mothers reading this today – Happy Mother’s Day – may the expressions given to you today for your gift to our families and your spiritual leadership be graciously received in your heart.  To all those with mothers, may our expressions be real, sincere and purposeful so that they know we do not only appreciate them and love them, but we know we would not be where we are today without them.  To all those who are fathers today and are leading your family into this great time where our expressions of our love language need some multi-tasking to make sure that everyone is ready to give today what God has laid on their heart to honour and for moms to be in awe of those expressions.  To all our families, note how blessed we are!

God’s love never runs out.  We are freed and we are so thankful that we will tell the world – freed from oppression.

For some of us that spiritual journey has taken years.  For others it seems like a lifetime because the journey went through a desert where you were half-starved and parched with thirst, staggering and stumbling, on the brink of exhaustion.  Our story begins like this — then in my desperate condition, I called out to God, He got me out in the nick of time.  He put my feet on a wonderful road and it went straight to a good place to live.  Thank you God for Your wonderful love, for Your miracle of mercy, for pouring great draughts of water down my parched throat and giving plenty to eat.

For some of us that oppression was like being locked in a dark cell, cruelly confined behind bars – that could have been for denying God.  But again, our story is just as real and begins like this – then in my desperate condition, I called out to God, He got me out in the nick of time.  He broke open the jail and led me out.  Thank you God for Your wonderful love, for Your miracle of mercy.

For some of us we were sick – a lifestyle consequence.  Our bodies feel the effect of our sin.  At times we were so sick we couldn’t stand the sight of food.  We were so miserable we knew we would be better off dead.  But again, our story is just as real and begins like this – then in my desperate condition, I called out to God, He got me out in the nick of time.  He spoke the Word that healed me and pulled me back from the brink of death.  Thank You God for Your wonderful love, for Your miracle of mercy, for it is time for me to be thankful and tell the world what You have done.

For some of us we saw God in creation, saw His breathtaking ways.  But it was in the storms, on the water, with winds and high waves, where we shot high in the sky, then the bottom dropped out and our hearts stuck in our throats.  We were spun like a top, we reeled like a drunk, we did not know which end was up.  But again our story is just as real and begins like this – then in my desperate condition, I called out to God, He got me out in the nick of time.  He quieted the wind down to a whisper, put a muzzle on the big waves, and I am so glad when the storm died down and he led me safely back to harbour.  Thank You God for your wonderful love, for Your miracle of mercy, I am joining with many others to lift my praise to You and shout Hallelujah when we gather.

For some of us we came out of wastelands where watersheds are sun-baked mud.  It was there that God changed the landscape. It was there that God brought those that were hungry because God had made it a great place to live.  Fields were sown, vineyards plants and there were bountiful harvests.  He blessed them and they prospered, never seeing a decrease in wealth but definitely seeing a decrease in trouble.  As a result they gave the poor a place to live, treated their family very well.

When good people see this, they are glad.  Bad people are speechless and stop in their tracks.  If we are really wise, we will think this over – it’s time we appreciate God’s deep love.
