Step out of the traffic

traffic

Had a person working for me in ministry who experienced this.  She felt she had to attend three church services on Sunday, work the street ministry on Saturday, full-time job Monday to Friday and then mentoring and in discipleship with teens on two or three week-nights.

She was so close to losing her faith and decided to take advantage of a free offer to meet a spiritual advisor from Tyndale Seminary.

Literally, she had to step out of the traffic and learn how to breathe.

God is a safe place to hide and He is ready to help when we need Him.  It is the stress that we create ourselves that destroys us sometimes.  With God, we can even stand at the edge of a cliff and not be afraid, be courageous in a storm at sea or an earthquake.  But when we stand in front of our own expectations – destruction, even when we think we are doing it for God.

Yes, we will prepare to wrestle with God over the things we need to wrestle.  Yes, we will cool down by a cool and gentle mist.  Where God lives, the streets are safe and He is ready to serve from the crack of dawn.

So let’s stop for a moment and let Him protect us.

Let be . . . and be still, step out of the traffic and know God’s peace
